Premature Ejaculation

Monday, March 29th, 2010

I have been in the field of sexuality education for over 17 years and one of the most common questions I have been asked and am still asked each time I give a presentation is: "What can I do about Premature Ejaculation?"  It is the most common sexual dysfunction out there and it can really put a damper on your sex life and your relationship.

As I began to ponder what I could do to help answer this question for so many I really started to see how much misinformation is out there, especially on the internet.  So I wrote a little ebook all about Premature Ejaculation, the causes, treatments and how to overcome this problem from my perspective as a sexuality educator and consultant who has specialized in helping people with sexuality issues for over 17 years.

You can check out this book here:  http://sexpertkelly.com/products/pe2.html

Health Benefits of Sex

Along with physical health and mental health, sexual health and is important for both and woman. The article below tells you more about various health benefits of sex including how regular sex will improve your overall health.

Health benefits of sex

It’s important for us to know the factors that affect our sexual health. If we know them well in advance, we can expect to live a healthy sex life. Let’s briefly describe some of the health benefits of sex.

Maintaining an ideal body weight
Being overweight or obese is a potential health risk. It can also impair your sex life, thus affecting the quality of life in general. If you feel you may be gaining weight, you should take immediate measures to remain at your ideal, healthy weight. With traditional methods like regular physical exercise and calorie controlled diet you can expect to maintain an ideal body weight. However, these traditional methods prove inadequate for some people who have already gained considerable amount of weight. Recent studies have shown that regular sex can help you lose many extra calories, in addition to improving how you function sexually. On average, sexual intercourse can help you burn approximately 150 calories in a 30 minutes sex session.

Increased blood flow

During sexual intercourse with your partner, every organ of your body is exercised. Sex increases the blood circulation in the whole body including your brain and heart. As a result, not only your sexual health gets a boost but so does your state of physical health.

Lower cholesterol

High cholesterol levels are bad for your health. You can reduce your cholesterol levels with regular exercise. Having regular sex with your partner can also help to balance your cholesterol levels and your HDL levels can get a boost too.

Stress reduction, relaxation, and improved sleep

Stress is a part of everyday life. It’s good to feel stressful at times because it helps to release energy. However, excess stress isn’t good and can lead to various mental problems including a reduced desire for sexual intercourse.

If you have regular sex with a partner you can relieve stress more effectively. You’ll feel relaxed after a satisfying session of sexual intercourse with your partner. When you are fulfilled and satisfied with your sex life, you will develop less negative feelings. It has been found that people who often have negative feelings about sex aren’t able to sleep properly because they think too much. With a healthy sex life, you won’t experience sleep problems or insomnia.

Sex as pain reliever

Sex can act as an analgesic. It can help relieve pain that is felt in the form of headaches, arthritis or whiplash. Our body has an important hormone oxytocin, which is popularly known as hormone of love. It plays a great role in female reproduction. During sexual intercourse, oxytocin is secreted which in turn releases endorphins. These hormones can act as natural analgesics in our body.

Live longer and stay younger

Regular sex can lengthen your life span. In a recent British study, it was found that people who have frequent orgasms live longer. In contrast, those who have sex only once a month are more likely to suffer from health problems.

Prostate and genital health

Older men often experience a sexual problem of prostate enlargement, which also leads to prostate cancer and in some cases, death. However, men who have regular sex can improve their genital health and keep their prostate gland healthy even when reaching old age.

Boost testosterone and estrogen

If you have sex regularly, your testosterone and estrogen levels are boosted. For men, in addition to boosting their libido, testosterone can also fortify bones and muscles. Testosterone is primarily a male sex hormone but also found in women to a lesser extent and can regulate their sex drive. If a woman has low levels of testosterone, she tends to feel a reduced desire for sex.

Healing power of intimacy

The moments of intimacy between you and your partner can become the stepping stones towards a healthy relationship. You can’t take your relationship for granted, therefore, to feel the healing power of intimacy you should try to build intimacy with your partner. Try to show your love and concern for him or her whenever possible.
